Streaming: Encoder set-up: Wirecast (Video)

  • From the home page, you will want to navigate to the “Event Settings” page from the “Streaming” dropdown menu

 

  • After choosing the Software option under the Equipment Settings tab, you will want to select the Wirecast option from the dropdown.

  • With Wirecast selected you will want to click "Sync with Wirecast"

  • Click “Choose Application”

  • Make sure Wirecast is chosen and click “Open Link”

  • This will open a new profile within Wirecast. From here you will want to click “Ok”’ and head to the “Output” screen if you need to adjust the Bitrate.

*Note: BE SURE TO SAVE THE PROFILE BEFORE CLOSING OR AFTER ANY CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE*

 

Common Issues

  1. Connection Failed
    • Verify Stream URL and Key
    • Check internet connection
    • Ensure firewall isn’t blocking RTMP
  2. Poor Stream Quality
    • Review bitrate and resolution settings in encoder
    • Check upload speed (https://speedtest.net)
    • Monitor CPU usage
  3. Audio Issues
    • No Audio
      • Verify audio source selection in encoder
    • Stuttering/Poor Audio
      • Verify bitrate and sample rate settings in encoder
      • Check audio levels

  1. Always Test Before Going Live
    • Use private test streams
    • Verify audio and video quality
    • Check all sources and scenes
  2. Network Optimization
    • Use wired internet connection
    • Close unnecessary applications
    • Monitor bandwidth usage
  3. Regular Maintenance
    • Update encoder software
    • Check for firmware updates
    • Regular test streams
